– The Sahrawi Mission to the African Union and Embassy to Ethiopia launched a new website in English, marking a significant step in providing comprehensive updates on the Western Sahara issue to all interested stakeholders and readers.

Launched on the 20 of May, which is the National Day of Armed Struggle ignited back in 1973 by the Sahrawi liberation movement (Polisario Front) against the Spanish colonization then against the Moroccan illegal occupation and expansionist adventure, the Website aims to provide for the needs of sister embassies, representations, and institutions operating in Addis Ababa and elsewhere, by providing useful and reliable information on the latest developments concerning the conflict directly from authentic sources.

In addition to delivering real-time updates, the platform hosts a rich repository of permanent content, offering insights into the legal, historical, and cultural dimensions shaping the Sahrawi people’s just struggle for independence and full liberation of their homeland.

Of paramount importance, the website provides interested stakeholders with crucial links to decisions and legal documents issued by esteemed international organizations concerning the Western Sahara matter. This encompasses resolutions and other documents from influential bodies such as the African Union, the United Nations, and other pertinent entities.

The website is launched today 20 May, in parallel with the Sahrawi people’s celebration of the 51st anniversary of the armed struggle against the Spanish colonialism in 1973, and against the Moroccan illegal military occupation since 1975.

The Embassy’s website does not seek to replace Sahrawi media platforms, its core focus, as articulated by its webmasters, lies in diligently monitoring the embassy’s engagements within the African Union.

Furthermore, it endeavors to disseminate the overarching positions and statements of the Sahrawi Republic, prioritizing articles or studies that deepen understanding of the multifaceted dynamics surrounding the Sahrawi issue, which commands attention on international, African, and Maghreb fronts.
