Sahara Press Agency (SPS- Official Press Agency) Sahara Press Service is the multi-lingual official press agency of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. The agency mainly reports government-related news and current Sahrawi affairs, both from the liberated and occupied territories of Western Sahara, and the Sahrawi refugee camps.
“Radio Nacional de la RASD” started broadcasting on 28 December 1975, shortly after the beginning of the Western Sahara War. Previously, some emissions had been made from supportive radio stations in Algiers and Tripoli, as “La Voz del Sáhara Libre” (The Voice of Free Sahara). In the first months of the station and due to the war situation, the first transmissions were made from moving trucks, with very limited airplay. In 1977 the first studios and archive were inaugurated in the Sahrawi refugee camps, while in late 1978 the power of the station rose to 20 kW, transmitting to all Western Sahara, Morocco, Algeria and part of Mauritania. In 1991 the station upgraded to 100 kW (its actual power), with a transmitting tower of 120m.

Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) works in solidarity with the people of Western Sahara, victims of the illegal Moroccan occupation of their territory. Rooted in international law, and supported by key rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union and legal opinions of the United Nations and the African Union, Western Sahara Resource Watch argues that business operations in the non-self-governing territory can only be considered legally, politically and ethically defensible if the Saharawi people have consented to them. WSRW today consists of volunteers in more than 40 countries, who together research and campaign the foreign companies implicated in the resource-rich territory. The ORG believes that the occupation of Western Sahara will not stop as long as Morocco is allowed to profit from it.
FiSahara-Film Festival: Created in 2003 by Sahrawis in the camps and Spanish civil society, FiSahara (Western Sahara International Film Festival) is an annual human rights film and cultural festival that seeks to entertain and empower the Sahrawi people through film, as well to raise international awareness about the Western Sahara’s ignored conflict. As Sahrawis discover film, they have embraced this new art as a tool for self-expression, cultural resistance and human rights activism, giving birth to Sahrawi cinematography.
